Dedicated Hosting Disclosed

When we speak of hosting servers, there are 3 principal kinds - shared web hosting servers, VPS (Virtual Private Servers) and dedicated hosting servers. Shared web hosting servers accommodate a lot of customers and hence the system resources per user account are limited, virtual private server accounts give you more server configuration independence, but also affect other Virtual Private Servers on the hardware node if used rashly, and dedicated servers offer you the freedom to carry out everything you wish without messing with anyone else.

Why would you require a dedicated hosting server?

Dedicated servers are commonly much more expensive than shared web servers or Virtual Private Servers. Why would anyone, then, want to use them? The explanation is very simple. If your firm has a large-scale online portal, or simply has very explicit web server architecture requirements, the best option would be a dedicated server. For someone who is inclined to invest in security and stability, the bigger price is not an issue. You are granted complete root-level access and can use 100 percent of the web hosting server's resources without anyone else availing of these resources and messing with your web sites.

Hardware specs

Most shared hosting companies, incl. us at Economic Hosting, offer several hardware configurations you can choose from in consonance with your needs. The configurations include different types of processors, a different amount of cores, different RAM and server hard drive sizes and different bandwidth usage quotas. You can choose a Control Panel, which is useful software if you wish to utilize the dedicated web server for website hosting purposes only and choose not to resort to an SSH terminal for all the changes you will be making. We provide 3 types of web hosting Control Panel software - Hepsia, DirectAdmin and cPanel.

The hosting CP of your preference

If you are a self-confident Linux OS user (our servers are running on Linux or other Unix-based Operating Systems), you could manage your dedicated server through an SSH connection exclusively. That, however, could be awkward, particularly if you decide to give root privileges to someone else who has less technical experience than yourself. That is why having web hosting Control Panel software pre-activated is an intelligent idea. The Hepsia hosting CP tool that we offer does not offer root access and is mainly appropriate for someone who owns multiple sites that swallow plenty of resources, but would rather manage the web portals, databases and e-mail boxes via an easy-to-use hosting Control Panel. The DirectAdmin and cPanel hosting Control Panels, on the other hand, give you full server root privileges and have three levels of access - root, reseller and user. If you plan to resell web hosting plans instead of utilizing the hosting server just for yourself, you should select one of these two.

Web server monitoring and backup services

Last but not least, there is the matter of monitoring the dedicated hosting server and of backing it up. In the event of a problem with your dedicated hosting server, like an unresponsive Apache or a network downtime, it is good to have some sort of monitoring platform enabled. Here at Economic Hosting the system administrators monitor all dedicated servers for ping timeouts, and, if you order a Managed Services upgrade, they monitor the separate services on the dedicated hosting server as well. Backups are also an additional feature - the hosting company offers you data backups on our own backup web servers. You could pick a type of RAID that would permit you to save the very same data on 2 hard disks as a precaution in case of a disk drive failure, or in case someone whom you have ranted full root-level access deletes something by mistake.
